Bandhkam Kamgar MAHABOCW (Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board) is a government initiative aimed at the welfare of construction workers in Maharashtra.

The board provides various benefits such as financial assistance, insurance, education support, and medical aid to registered workers.

Construction Workers Registration

Registration is mandatory and can be done online or offline.

  • Step 1: Visit the official MAHABOCW portal at mahabocw.in.
  • Step 2: On the homepage, click on the “Workers” section, then select “Worker Registration.”

  • Step 3: A new page will open. Enter your eligibility details (e.g., age, days worked, residency).

  • Step 5: Notification pops up confirming your eligibility, click on OK and Proceed.
  • Step 6: A new window opens, enter your Aadhaar number and currently used mobile number and click on Proceed to Form.

  • Step 7: The registration form will appear. Fill in all required details, including personal details, address details as per Aadhar, family details and employment details.
Mahabocw Registration
  • Step 8: Upload necessary documents (e.g., Aadhaar card, proof of work, residence proof). Tick the declaration and click on save option.

  • Step 8: Pay the registration fee of ₹1 and the annual subscription fee of ₹1 (online payment options available).
  • Step 9: Click “Submit” to complete the registration. Save the acknowledgment receipt for future reference.
💡
Note: Starting February 5, 2025, data entry at taluka facilitation centers has been discontinued. Workers must now complete registration, renewals, and claims online, followed by scheduling document verification appointments at their convenience.

  • Step 1: Locate your nearest taluka facilitation center or MAHABOCW office (list available on mahabocw.in under “Contact Us”).

Step 2: Request Form-V (Worker Registration Form) from the center or download it from the portal and print it.

  • Step 3: Fill out the form manually: include your name, Aadhaar number, address, bank details, and work history (90+ days).
  • Step 4: Attach photocopies of required documents: Aadhaar card, residence proof, and a passport-sized photo.
  • Step 5: Submit the completed form and documents to the center staff.
  • Step 6: Pay ₹1 registration fee and ₹1 annual subscription in cash or as directed.
  • Step 7: Receive a receipt with your registration number after processing (typically 7-15 days).
  • Step 8: Visit the center later to collect your membership card or check online with your number.

Note: Since February 5, 2025, data entry at centers has stopped, but they still accept offline forms for manual processing. Bring originals for verification if asked.

Checking Benefit Distribution Status

  • Step 1: Head over to the MAHABOCW official website.
  • Step 2: On the homepage, locate and click on the 'Benefits Distributed' option. This section allows you to check the status of benefits transfers.

  • Step 3: Within the 'Benefits Distributed' section, you'll find two options:
    • Various Scheme Benefits Transferred: Select this to view successful benefits transfers.
    • Various Scheme Benefits Transfer Failures: Choose this to check if there were any issues with your benefits transfer.
  • Step 4: After selecting the appropriate option, a new window will prompt you to provide specific information like district, scheme and beneficiary name, account number and IFSC code.

  • Step 5: After entering all the required details, click the 'Search' button to retrieve your benefits transfer status.

MAHABOCW Other Online Services

Beyond registration, the MAHABOCW portal offers essential tools to manage your membership and benefits. 

  • Apply Online for Claim: Submit a claim for benefits like financial aid or maternity support directly on mahabocw.in.
  • Online Renewal: Renew your annual membership with a ₹1 fee to keep benefits active.
  • Change Appointment Date for Claim: Reschedule your claim verification appointment online with ease.
  • Update Your Construction Worker Registration: Modify your profile details, such as address or bank account, via the portal.

Bandhkam Kamgar Yojana

The Bandhkam Kamgar Yojana is a welfare scheme designed to support construction workers in Maharashtra by offering financial aid, health benefits, education support for their children, and social security measures such as accident insurance and pensions.

Administered by the Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, the scheme is funded through a 1% cess levied on construction costs (excluding land costs) as per the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Cess Act, 1996.

Launched on April 18, 2020, by the Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board. The Bandhkam Kamgar Yojana, often referred to by alternative names such as Mazdoor Sahayata Yojana, Maharashtra Nirman Shramik Yojana, or Maharashtra Corona Sahayata Yojana, was introduced to address the financial and social challenges faced by construction workers.

Objectives of the Scheme

The Bandhkam Kamgar Yojana has several key objectives:

  • Financial Support: To provide monetary assistance to construction workers, helping them meet daily needs and overcome economic hardships.
  • Social Security: To ensure workers have access to health insurance, pensions, maternity benefits, and other welfare measures.
  • Skill Development: To offer training programs that enhance employability and job opportunities.

  • Accessibility: To simplify the process of availing benefits through an online portal, reducing bureaucratic hurdles.

Eligibility Criteria

To avail of the benefits under the Bandhkam Kamgar Yojana, workers must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a resident of Maharashtra.
  • Be aged between 18 and 60 years.
  • Have worked as a construction worker for at least 90 days in the past 12 months.
  • Register with the Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.

Welfare Schemes Offered by MAHABOCW

The Board offers several schemes for social security, education, healthcare, and financial assistance to registered construction workers. Below are the key schemes:

Social Security Schemes

  • Marriage Assistance: ₹30,000 for the first marriage of a registered worker.
  • Personality Development: Distribution of personality development book sets.
  • Tool Purchase Assistance: ₹5,000 for purchasing tools.
  • Insurance Schemes: Coverage under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana.
  • Skill Development: Training programs for construction workers.

Education Schemes

  • Primary & Secondary Education: ₹2,500 for children studying in 1st to 7th standard and ₹5,000 for children studying in 8th to 10th standard.
  • Higher Secondary: ₹10,000 for children scoring 50% or more in 10th or 12th standard.
  • College Education: ₹20,000 per year for degree education.
  • Professional Courses: ₹1,00,000 for medical degrees and ₹60,000 for engineering degrees.
  • Diploma & Postgraduate Studies: ₹20,000 for diploma courses and ₹25,000 for postgraduate studies.
  • IT & Computer Training: Reimbursement of MS-CIT course fees.

Health Care Schemes

  • Maternity Benefits: ₹15,000 for normal delivery and ₹20,000 for C-section delivery.
  • Medical Assistance: ₹1,00,000 for serious ailments.
  • Family Planning Assistance: ₹1,00,000 deposit for a female child’s education if sterilization is done after the birth of the first girl child.
  • Disability Assistance: ₹2,00,000 for workers suffering 75% or more disability.
  • Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana: Health coverage for workers.

Financial Assistance Schemes

  • Accidental Death: ₹5,00,000 financial assistance to the legal heir of a worker who dies at the construction site.
  • Natural Death: ₹2,00,000 assistance for natural death.

Documents Required

For registration and claims, prepare:

  • Proof of Age: Aadhaar card, birth certificate, or school-leaving certificate.
  • Proof of Residence: Aadhaar card, ration card, or utility bill.
  • Identity Proof: Voter ID, PAN card, or Aadhaar card.
  • 90 Days Work Certificate:
  • Photographs: Three passport-sized photos.
  • Bank Details: Passbook copy or cancelled cheque.
