UP Scholarship

The UP Scholarship program, launched by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, provides financial aid to students from economically weaker backgrounds. It covers pre-matric (Class 9 & 10), post-matric (Class 11 & 12), and higher education levels.

Managed by the Social Welfare, Minority Welfare, and Backward Class Welfare Departments, the scheme supports SC, ST, OBC, Minority, and General category students. Applications can be submitted online via the UP Scholarship Portal (scholarship.up.gov.in), with funds disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

This initiative helps reduce financial hurdles, encouraging students to complete their education and enhance skill development in the state.

UP Scholarship Registration Process

Students can apply for the UP Scholarship by following these steps:

• Go to the UP Scholarship Portal: scholarship.up.gov.in.
• Select the Appropriate Scholarship
  • Pre-Matric (Class 9 & 10)
  • Post-Matric (Class 11 & 12)
  • Post-Matric Other Than Intermediate (UG, PG, Diploma, and Certificate Courses)
  • Post-Matric for Other State Students

• Click on New Registration.
• Select the category (SC/ST/OBC/Minority/General).
• Fill in personal details such as name, date of birth, Aadhaar number, mobile number, and email ID.
• Set a password and complete the registration.

Login

• Log in with your registration number and password.
• Enter details such as educational qualifications, income details, and bank account information.

• Upload necessary documents (Aadhaar, income certificate, mark sheets, caste certificate, etc.).
• Carefully review the form and submit it.
• Take a printout of the completed application form for future reference.

Check UP Scholarship Status

If you have applied for the scholarship and have your Registration Number or Application Number, you can easily check your scholarship status online by following the steps below.

• Open your browser and go to the official UP Scholarship Portal:
  scholarship.up.gov.in
• The homepage of the "Scholarship & Fee Reimbursement Online System, Uttar Pradesh" will appear.
• On the left-hand side of the page, click on the "Student" tab.
• You will see three options:
  • Registration
  • Fresh Login
  • Renewal Login

Registration (For New Applicants)

• If you are applying for the UP Scholarship for the first time, select this option to register yourself.

Fresh Login (For New Students)

• If you have applied for the scholarship for the first time in the current session, select this option.
• Upon selecting this, you will see four different login categories:
  • Prematric Student Login: For students studying in Class 9 & 10.
  • Intermediate Student Login: For students studying in Class 11 & 12.
  • Postmatric Other Than Inter Student Login: For students pursuing Diploma, Undergraduate, Postgraduate, or other professional courses.
  • Postmatric Other State Student Login: For students from other states but studying in Uttar Pradesh institutions.

Renewal Login (For Previously Registered Students)

• If you applied for the scholarship in a previous session and want to renew it, click on this option.
• After selecting this, you will again see four categories (Prematric, Intermediate, Postmatric Other Than Inter, and Postmatric Other State), and you need to choose your respective category.

After clicking the relevant login option, a new page will open where you need to enter your details:

• Enter Your Registration Number/Application Number
• Enter Your Date of Birth
• Enter the Password or Verification Code (Created during registration)
• Enter the Captcha Code
• Click on Submit

If you forgot your password, click on the "Forgot Password" option, provide the necessary details, and reset it.

Checking Your Scholarship Status

• After logging into your profile/dashboard, your basic details (entered at the time of registration) will be displayed.
• On the left-side menu, click on "Check Current Status."
• A new page will open, showing your scholarship application status.

Understanding Your Scholarship Status

After checking the scholarship status, you may see different updates such as:

• Pending for Verification: Your application is under review.
• Approved: Your scholarship application has been successfully approved.
• Rejected: Your application has been declined due to incorrect details or ineligibility.
• Sent to PFMS: The scholarship amount has been forwarded for payment processing.
• Payment Processed: The amount has been successfully transferred to your bank account.

Check UP Scholarship Payment Status

Once your scholarship is approved, you can track the payment details on the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) Portal.

• Visit https://pfms.nic.in
• Click on "Know Your Payments."

• Enter Your Bank Account Number and Captcha Code.
• Click on Search to check the status.

If the scholarship amount has been processed, it will reflect in your bank account within a few days.

Important Notes for Students

• Always check your scholarship status regularly to stay updated.
• Ensure that your bank account details are correct to receive the payment.
• If your application is rejected, contact the district social welfare office or your college administration for assistance.
• The scholarship status is updated periodically, so check back if your status is still pending.
