Ladaki Bahin Scheme
The Maharashtra government introduced the Ladaki Bahin Scheme (मुख्यमंत्री - माझी लाडकी बहीण योजना) on June 28, 2024, as part of its ongoing efforts to empower women economically and socially.
With an allocation of ₹46,000 crore, this scheme aims to provide financial assistance directly to eligible women.
The initiative is designed to support women between the ages of 21 and 65 by offering a monthly stipend of ₹1,500. Additionally, the scheme includes provisions for supporting daughters' higher education, further enhancing its impact.
Application Process
- Step 1: Visit the Official Website:
- Access the Ladaki Bahin Scheme portal at ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in.
- Click on “Applicant Login” and register by entering your details, including name, mobile number, and email address, if you have not signed up.
- Step 2: After signing in, login and click on the Apply option and Complete the Application Form
- Fill Out Personal Details: Enter your personal information, such as name, date of birth, address, and family income.
- Upload Documents: Prepare and upload the following documents:
- Aadhaar Card: For identity and residency proof.
- Domicile Certificate: To verify residency in Maharashtra.
- Income Certificate: To confirm annual family income.
- Bank Passbook: For direct benefit transfer.
- Address Proof: Such as utility bills or rental agreements.
- Passport-size Photograph: For identity verification.
- PAN Card: Optional, but recommended for additional verification.
Ensure all details and documents are correct, then click “Submit” to finalize your application.
- Step 3: Verification Process
- Document Verification: Authorities will review the submitted application and documents to verify eligibility.
- Field Verification: In certain cases, a field verification may be conducted to confirm the applicant's details and eligibility.
- Step 4: Application Status and Payment
- Check Status: Monitor the status of your application on the official website. The “Application Status” section will provide updates on approval and payment.
- Receive Payment: Upon approval, the monthly financial assistance of ₹1,500 will be transferred directly to your bank account.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Ladaki Bahin Scheme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Age: Women must be between 21 and 65 years old.
- Residency: Applicants must be permanent residents of Maharashtra.
- Income: The annual family income should not exceed ₹2.5 lakh.
- Economic Status: Preference is given to women from economically weaker sections.
- Employment Status: The applicant’s family members should not be employed by the government or be income taxpayers.
Disqualification
- Families with a combined annual income over ₹2.50 lakhs.
- Families with income taxpayers.
- Families with regular/permanent government employees or pensioners; exceptions apply to outsourced, voluntary, or contract workers with income up to ₹2.50 lakhs.
- Women benefiting from other government financial schemes with monthly assistance of, ₹1500 or more.
- Families with a current or former MP/MLA.
- Families with members holding positions like Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Director, or Member in government bodies.
- Families owning a four-wheeler (excluding tractors).
- Women whose families own more than five acres of land or who are government employees are generally ineligible unless they meet specific conditions.

- Online Helpline: An online helpline Toll-Free Number at 181 is now available on the official website for application-related queries.
- Additional Educational Grant: Beginning November 2024, a one-time grant of ₹10,000 will be provided for the higher education of daughters of beneficiaries.
