Process for empanelling hospitals under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY):
- Empanellment Criteria:
- Hospitals must have at least 10 inpatient beds (exceptions for specific centers like dialysis).
- Must provide both medical and surgical services.
- Round-the-clock availability of qualified medical staff.
- Equipped with essential services like a pharmacy, laboratory, and blood bank (in-house or nearby outsourcing).
- Must have proper arrangements for emergency services, ICU, operation theater, and post-op facilities.
- Application and Registration:
- Hospitals apply for empanellment on the Hospital Empanelment Module (HEM) at hospitals.pmjay.gov.in.
- They need to create an account on the HEM portal, fill out a detailed application, and undergo a verification process.
- Verification and Approval:
- The application goes through desktop and physical verification.
- A District Empanelment Committee (DEC) conducts inspections, verifying details like hospital infrastructure, staff, and services.
- After successful verification, the empanellment is approved, and the hospital is notified via SMS or email.
- Empanelment of Specialized Hospitals:
- Hospitals offering specialized services (e.g., oncology, cardiology) must meet additional criteria, including having ICU facilities and specialists on call.
