The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme gives ₹6,000 every year to help all farmers. The money is sent directly to the farmers' bank accounts to make sure they get it without any issues.

This short guide explains how to do "New farmer registration" so more farmers can easily get these benefits.

New Farmer Registration Process

To register as a new farmer under the PM Kisan scheme, follow these simplified steps:

New Farmer Registration
  • Choose Registration Type: Select either Rural or Urban Farmer Registration.
  • Enter Details for OTP: Input your Aadhaar number and mobile number, select your state, enter the captcha, and click on “GET OTP”.
Farmer Registration Form-1
  • Verify with OTP: Enter the received OTP and click “Submit”.
  • Fill in Personal Information: Complete the form with your personal, bank, and land details.
  • Finalize Registration: Click “Save” to finish. You will receive a farmer ID, which you should print out for your records.
💡
Before starting the new farmer registration for PM-Kisan, make sure to have all the required documents ready, such as land ownership papers, an Aadhaar card, bank account details, an income certificate, and a mobile phone number.
💡
After you register for the scheme, your application goes through a verification process. Initially, your details, such as Aadhaar number, land records, and bank account information, are checked against official records. This ensures that only eligible farmers receive the benefits.
💡
There is no application fee for registration. It is a free service provided by the government.

Important Points

  • Identification by State/UT Governments:
    • The responsibility of identifying the eligible farmers lies with the State or Union Territory governments.
    • The governments compile a database of eligible beneficiaries by collecting important details such as the farmer's name, age, gender, Aadhaar number, bank account number, mobile number, and land ownership records.
  • Data Upload on PM-KISAN Portal:
    • Once identified, the details of the eligible farmers are uploaded to the PM-KISAN Portal by State or UT authorities.
    • The portal is accessible via pmkisan.gov.in and serves as a central system for monitoring and verifying the details of all beneficiaries.
  • Aadhaar Linked Database:
    • Aadhaar verification is mandatory for beneficiaries to ensure transparency. Payments are only processed to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.
    • In some states like Assam, Meghalaya, and Jammu & Kashmir, where Aadhaar has limited reach, alternative identification documents can be used temporarily.
  • Self-Declaration and Verification:
    • Beneficiaries need to provide a self-declaration, confirming their eligibility and agreeing to the use of Aadhaar for verification.
    • After the registration process is completed and verified, the farmers will receive a registration/reference number that can be used to track the status of their payment.

This ensures that only eligible farmers receive the financial benefits provided under the PM-KISAN scheme.
