The government has introduced a facility that allows PM-Kisan beneficiaries to voluntarily give up their benefits from the scheme, helping other eligible people benefit from it.
A link for this has been activated on the official portal. In this article, I will explain in detail about the Voluntary Surrender of PM Kisan Benefits.
How to Voluntarily Surrender PM Kisan Benefits?
Voluntary surrender typically occurs when beneficiaries realize they no longer qualify under the exclusions listed in the scheme's guidelines, such as income tax payers, professionals, or holders of constitutional posts.
To voluntarily surrender your benefits, follow these steps:
- Go to the official website: pmkisan.gov.in.
- Click "Voluntary Surrender of PM Kisan Benefits" in the Farmer Corner.
- Enter your registration number and click "GET OTP".
- Enter the OTP received on your mobile number.
💡
You will then see an option that allows you to surrender all benefits under the scheme. After doing this, the financial assistance you were receiving under the PM Kisan scheme will stop, and your name will be removed from the list of beneficiaries.
Reasons to Surrender
There could be several reasons why someone might choose to voluntarily surrender their benefits. Here are a few potential reasons:
- Improved Financial Situation : The beneficiary's financial situation has improved, and they no longer need the support provided by the scheme.
- Ineligibility : The beneficiary has realized they do not meet the eligibility criteria for the PM Kisan scheme. For example, they might have mistakenly received the benefits due to incorrect information.
- Ethical Reasons : The individual might feel that someone else who is in greater need should receive the benefits. They may choose to surrender their benefits out of a sense of fairness or community spirit.
- Legal or Compliance Issues : There might be legal or compliance issues that necessitate the surrender of the benefits. For example, the individual might have received benefits while being ineligible due to owning more land than permitted under the scheme’s rules.
💡
Voluntarily surrendering benefits can be seen as a responsible and ethical action, ensuring that the scheme remains effective and reaches the intended beneficiaries.
