To check if your name appears on the NREGA job card list for your village or area after applying, simply follow these straightforward instructions:

  • Choose your state from the list that appears.
  • Enter your details on the next page, including state name, financial year, district, block, and Panchayat name.

In the Panchayat section, you'll find NREGA Gram Panchayat List. From this list, you can choose your gram Panchayat.
Report Page (NREGA)
  • Click the 'Proceed' button after entering your information.
  • To find your name, click on 'Job Card / Registration', and then select 'Job card/Employment Register'.

In the employment register, you can check your name alongside your MGNREGA job card number.

The register will then open, allowing you to search for your name on the list. The job card list is colour-coded to indicate different statuses:

What is a Job Card?

A Job Card under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) is a government-issued document provided to rural households in India.

This card entitles the holder to request employment under the scheme, guaranteeing at least 100 days of wage employment in a financial year to every household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work.

The Job Card contains details about the work done by the cardholder and the wages paid. It is a key tool for transparency and accountability in the implementation of the NREGA scheme.

The Job Card List is regularly updated to include new households or individuals who become eligible for work, such as new adult members. Deletions are also made in the case of death or permanent relocation of household members

Information Contained

An NREGA job card includes the following details:

  • Job card number
  • Name of the head of the household
  • Name of the father or husband
  • Category
  • Date of registration
  • Address: Village, Panchayat, Block, District
  • BPL (Below Poverty Line) status
  • Number of days work was requested
  • Number of days work was assigned
  • Description of the assigned work, including the muster roll number
  • Measurement details
  • Unemployment allowance, if applicable
  • Dates and number of days worked
  • Date-wise wage payment details
  • Delay compensation, if applicable

A door-to-door survey is conducted annually to identify households eligible for MGNREGA. Based on the survey, the job card list is updated with new entries or corrections​

Application Process

Under MGNREGA, households are registered by Gram Panchayats (GPs), and the details of registered households are maintained in the MIS (NREGAsoft).

You can apply for a job card through the methods mentioned below, either online or offline.

  • Online: For the online method, you can register your job card through the UMANG portal, or you can seek assistance from a CSC (Common Services Center).
  • Offline: To obtain a job card offline, visit your local gram Panchayat office, register by either requesting the job card or filling out and submitting the required form. After your information is verified, you will receive your card.

To apply, you will need the following details:

  • Applicant's name
  • Applicant's age
  • Applicant's gender
  • Applicant's photo
  • Applicant's signature/thumb impression
  • Signature/thumb impression of other household members willing to work
  • Name of the village
  • Name of the gram Panchayat
  • Whether the applicant is an SC/ST/IAY/LR beneficiary

Government data indicates that the NREGA scheme has 14.37 crore active beneficiaries. As of November 30, 2023, it generated 221.60 crore person-days, up from 208.74 crore during the same period last year, according to Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh.
