NREGA Job Card

The NREGA Job Card is a crucial document for rural households under MGNREGA. It records the details of workers and their entitlements, ensuring transparency and preventing fraud.

Job cards are issued by Gram Panchayats after verifying the household's eligibility. The process includes a door-to-door survey to identify unregistered eligible households.

The Job Card contains details such as:

  • Names of all adult members of the household willing to work.
  • Work demanded and allocated.
  • Wages paid for the work done.
  • Social security details such as Aadhaar number, bank account number, etc.

Worker Rights

With the Job Card, workers can apply for work under MGNREGA and are entitled to:

  • Receive work within 15 days of application.
  • Be paid wages within 15 days of completing the work.
  • Access unemployment allowances if work is not provided on time.
💡
The Job Card must be kept by the household and updated regularly. All entries related to work and wages must be recorded in the presence of the worker, ensuring transparency.

The NREGA Job Card is essential for availing employment under the scheme and maintaining accountability in the wage payment process.
