A Ration Card is a government-issued document that entitles households to purchase subsidized food grains and essential commodities from the Public Distribution System (PDS). Ration Cards are sorted by family income levels—Below Poverty Line (BPL), Above Poverty Line (APL), and Antyodaya—to give benefits properly.

How to check?
To check the status of a ration card, whether it's a new application or an existing one, simply follow the steps provided below.
- Step 1: Go to the official website at https://nfsa.gov.in.
- Step 2: Select "Know Your Ration Card Status" from the Citizen Corner section.
- Step 3: On the "My RC Details" page, input your Ration Card Number and fill in the captcha.
- Step 4: Press "Get RC Details" to view the status of your ration card.

What if my ration card application gets rejected?
If your ration card application is rejected, review the reasons given by the Food and Supply Department. Correct any problems or gather any missing documents needed, and then reapply.
